TERRACAN EXTREME
TERRACAN EXTREME

The TERRACAN EXTREME (Tarantula) is unique V shaped tubular frame high mobility vehicle designed to overcome almost any obstacle. Specially designed for off road climbing challenges and races.  Designed and built by Ido Off Road Center in order to compete in the 2004 "Hyundai Challenge" Held in ISRAEL and later to compete in the TTC held in California.

Unique features:A rigid V shaped space frame which also acts as a safety roll cage. That gives the vehicle a very small contact point with ground obstacles. (30 cm at its widest point at the height of 65 cm above ground).

All of the drive line components are integrated inside the V shaped frame creating a flat "skid surface" in the bottom of the vehicle, enabling it to slide over large obstacles without damaging the drive line components.

In addition the approach and departure angles of the vehicle are 90 degrees which enables this vehicle literally to climb walls (Up to 120 cm).T

he vehicle is equipped with a 4 wheel hydraulic steering system that enables amazing maneuverability even in the tightest spots.

Specially designed double wishbone suspension structure, the structure (Shown in the picture above) maximizes the vehicles ground clearance to prevent rock damage to the suspension.
